E nel mio viaggio nella culla delle tre religioni monoteiste, ho vissuto l’esperienza di queste parole. Ho vissuto tutta la bellezza e l’immenso patrimonio spirituale e storico dell’umanità. Ho vissuto anche la sua grande fragilità – che solo la consapevolezza che Gerusalemme è di tutti quelli che la amano – può salvare.

My travels to the cradle of the world’s three monotheistic religions made me live the experience Eco talks about. I experienced its beauty and immense spiritual and historic heritage. I also experienced its frailty; a frailty that can be protected and overcome only by the awareness that Jerusalem belongs to all those who cherish it.
